Job summary

MediLodge of Grand Rapids is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to residents and supervise clinical staff. The role supports flexible scheduling and offers competitive wages based on experience and shift.

The RN will initiate and lead care planning, monitor residents, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality resident care while complying with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs.
• Promptly implement physicians' orders.
• Assign nursing care to team members per resident needs and qualifications.
• Supervise, direct and evaluate LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
• Administer medications and perform treatments with proper documentation.
• Participate in orientation and in‑service training for staff.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within scope of Practice Act.
• Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is maintained safely.
• Report and record pertinent resident observations.
• Coordinate care during therapy or procedures from other departments.
• Interview applicants and participate in staff counseling and disciplinary actions.

Summary

Job Functions

• Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the resident's needs and the person's capabilities and qualifications.

• Administers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required company, and local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
• Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interviews applicants and recommends hires. Participates in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff, to extent permitted by state practice act.
• Supervises nursing unit, which includes scheduling and directing the nursing staff to extent permitted by state practice act.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
