Job summary

SpecialtyRx is seeking a reliable Medication Receiving Technician to ensure accurate receipt of medications and supplies from vendors. You will verify shipments, enter items into the inventory system, and maintain regulatory compliance in a fast-paced LTC pharmacy environment.

The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, is organized, and capable of working with DEA/state regulations and cross-functional teams. Training on day shift is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy or inventory receiving experience
• OH Pharmacy Technician Certification required per state regulations
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, NDCs, and receiving documentation
• Comfortable using pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to train on day shift

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify all incoming medication shipments (prescription drugs, OTCs, refrigerated meds, and controlled substances).
• Match purchase orders with invoices and packing slips, ensuring accuracy in quantities and NDCs.
• Inspect all packages for damage, expiration dates, and compliance with storage requirements (e.g., refrigeration).
• Accurately enter received items into the pharmacy inventory system (e.g., FrameworkLTC, SureCost).
• Label and shelve medications in appropriate storage areas according to pharmacy layout and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in rotating stock and removing short-dated or expired inventory as part of quality assurance protocols.
• Handle controlled substances in compliance with DEA, state pharmacy board regulations, and internal protocols.
• Communicate discrepancies or damaged shipments to the Inventory Lead or Purchasing Department immediately.
• Collaborate with the packaging, fulfillment, and order entry teams to ensure continuous workflow support.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and inventory areas.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory audits as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position:

Medication Receiving Technician.

Schedule:

Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, and every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, lift, squat and reach.
• Must be able to train on day shift.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Warehouse and pharmacy environment with exposure to refrigerated areas and various packaging materials.
