Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Enterprise Pharmacy - Transitions of Care Services Acute Care in North Carolina. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with first shift hours 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and every other weekend.

Responsibilities include: performing area-specific tasks, leveraging pharmacy tech expertise, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting patient and care team communications.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; NC requires an Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology for technicians with validating responsibilities.
• 3 years of experience in health care, insurance, pharmacy or medical background.

Responsibilities

• Completes area-specific work per standard processes and policies.
• Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in the specialized area.
• Troubleshoots technical issues in the specialized area as they arise.
• Maintains accurate records and timely documentation.
• Supports communication with patients and care team.
• Identifies quality improvement opportunities for safe, effective patient care.
• Participates in site/system specialized work teams and committees.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Keeps current with changes in the field and adopts best practices.
• Contributes to education of others and to pharmacy department initiatives.
• Assists with workload balance by taking tasks from teammates when needed.
