Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician II to support safe, timely services under supervision. Prepare, label, stock, and distribute medications and supplies, while maintaining inventory and performing quality checks.

Requires High School Diploma, MA license, CPhT or ExCPT, NH registration by hire, ASHP history certificate, and 1–2 years of experience. Evening shifts; onsite at 2014 Washington Street in Newton, MA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician 1–2 years experience required.
• Massachusetts license/registration and national certification required.
• New Hampshire registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• ASHP Medication History Certificate required or to be completed within 6 months.
• Experience with pharmacy robotics/automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, fill, label, repackage, and distribute medications and supplies accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Manage medication inventory, storage areas, automated dispensing cabinets, returns, recalls, expired products, and investigational drugs.
• Handle controlled substances and sterile preparations in compliance with laws and policies.
• Operate pharmacy robotics, automation, software, equipment, and information systems.
• Maintain cleanroom standards through garbing, aseptic practices, and environmental monitoring as applicable.
• Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, pharmacists, and clinical staff to gather information and coordinate needs.
• Train junior staff, prepare reports, complete audits, and support workflow and inventory control.
