Job summary

MediLodge of Grand Rapids is seeking a dedicated Medication Assistant to coordinate and administer medications for assisted living residents. This role supports residents with daily medication needs, documents administrations, and communicates changes to the health care team.

Requirements include CPR/AED certification within 60 days, a preferred 1 year nursing-related experience, and being at least 18 years old. The position offers full-time hours and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must complete all required training/competencies for medication handling as per state and company rules.
• CPR/AED certification within 60 days of employment is required.
• One year of experience in nursing is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Follow the rights of medication administration and accurately implement physicians' orders.
• Administer medications to assigned residents and document when given or refused.
• Communicate any refusals, errors, or changes of condition to the health care provider.
• Notify prescribing clinicians if PRN medications are needed longer-term.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
• Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is kept clean and safe.
• Record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
