Avenues Recovery Center in Richmond, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our inpatient detox and residential program. You will provide quality medical care to stabilize clients and support treatment goals, assist with nursing duties, and collaborate with clinical teams.

Qualifications include VA Medical Assistant licensure and a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred). Strong communication and multitasking skills are essential, with a compassionate approach to care.

RMAs for our inpatient Detox and Residential treatment facility, in Richmond, VA.

What You'll Do

• Provide quality, timely medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to engage fully in treatment
• Assist with all nursing shift duties (vitals, drug screens, medication management, charting and reporting etc.)
• Collaborate with extended medical and clinical teams for seamless coordination of care
• Manage, order and res-stock all medical supplies as necessary
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange aftercare providers for post discharge
• Assist with all pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma/ GED or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid licensure to serve as a Medical Assistant in this state
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Knowledge of substance use and its bio-psychosocial consequences
