Job summary

Wallick Communities is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide for Meadow Valley, Michigan. This full-time role runs 7am–3:00pm and offers a $21/hour base pay with shift differential. The position focuses on safe medication administration, resident care, and prompt communication with nurses and families.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of first aid training and CPR.
  • Experience with seniors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, as prescribed, under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Promptly report resident needs for PRN medications to the nurse.
  • Promptly report adverse or concerning reactions to medications to the nurse.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, management and families.
  • Provide physical resident care including personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Care.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse. Completes documentation of medication administration.
  • Promptly report to the nurse, a resident’s request/need for PRN medications.
  • Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.Communicate effectively with residents, staff, management and families.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures that falls under the scope of the Medication Aide.
  • Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Answers call lights in a timely manner and responds accordingly to the resident’s needs.
  • Any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Care.
