Job summary

Wallick Senior Living in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for a PRN role at The Ashford of Mt. Washington.

You will administer prescribed medications under a nurse's supervision and document all administration. Key duties include promptly addressing resident needs for PRN meds, reporting adverse reactions, and maintaining effective communication with residents, staff and families while assisting with personal care tasks.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Medication Aide certificate from the Ohio Board of Nursing is required.
  • Completion of first aid training and CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications as prescribed under the direction of a licensed nurse and document administration.
  • Promptly report to the nurse any resident need for PRN medications or adverse reactions.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, management and families.
  • Provide personal hygiene and grooming support as part of resident care.
  • Respond to call lights promptly and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Care.

What You’ll Do
  • Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse. Completes documentation of medication administration.
  • Promptly report to the nurse, a resident’s request/need for PRN medications.
  • Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, management and families.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures that falls under the scope of the Certified Medication Aide.
  • Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Answers call lights in a timely manner and responds accordingly to the resident’s needs.
  • Any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Care.
What We’re Looking For
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Requires a Certified Medication Aide certificate from the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Completion of first aid training and CPR
