Job summary

Legacy Estates is seeking a detail-oriented Medication Aide to join our day and evening shift team. You will administer medications per doctor’s orders, monitor vitals, and support residents with daily living activities in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

The role requires maintaining accurate medication charts, restocking supplies, and reporting any changes to the Charge Nurse. A current Medication Aide certification is required to work in this facility.

Qualifications

• Monitor vitals such as blood pressure, pulse, weight and blood sugar.
• Maintain a medication chart and documents regarding medication administration.
• Assist with activities of daily living for the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications including oral, topical, drops, sprays, etc. per doctor’s orders according to facility policies and the five rights of medication administration.
• Assist with med cart change over and checking monthly med sheets as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Monitor changes in resident’s physical or mental health and report irregularities to the Charge Nurse.
• Maintain medication cart in a clean and orderly state and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist with activities outside medication management such as light housekeeping, laundry, resident care, and other tasks.

Our team needs you to:

• Administer medications including oral, topical, drops, sprays, etc. per doctor’s orders according to the policies and procedures of the facility and adhering to the five rights of medication administration.
• Assist with med cart change over and the checking of the monthly med sheets as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Monitor any changes in resident’s physical or mental behavior and report the abnormality to the Charge Nurse.
• Maintain medication cart in a clean and orderly state and re-stock with supplies as needed.
• Assist with activities outside of medication management such as: light housekeeping, laundry, resident cares, and other various tasks.
• Obtain a 40-hour valid and current Medication Aide certification in the State of Nebraska.

This is a full-time position working the DAY shift from 6:00am-2:00pm five (5) shifts per week including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

This is a full-time position working the EVENING shift from 2:00pm-10:00pm five (5) shifts per week including every other weekend and rotating holidays.
