Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved training program in medication administration.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Annual medication evaluation with Registered Pharmacy Consultant.
• Current QMA Certificate for the current state.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and administers prescribed oral, eye, nasal, and ear medications; topical meds as instructed.
• Checks physician orders against medication forms and maintains accurate records.
• Maintains safe storage and cleanliness of drugs; keeps medication cart secure.
• Assists with patient tubing, vital signs, and timely charting of conditions.
• Responds promptly to call lights and alarms; follows HIPAA privacy rules.
• Orders medications from pharmacy per physician orders; documents appropriately.
