Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living is seeking a Medication Aide to support residents by administering and assisting with oral, topical, and non-injectable medications under the Director of Nursing’s guidance. This role emphasizes resident dignity, independence, and timely medication administration.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, current First Aid/CPR, and a compassionate, flexible approach to working with seniors. State regulations and hospital-level safety practices guide daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Maintains a Food Handlers card.
• Passes a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
• Compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Positive communication skills with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other employees.
• Creative problem‑solving skills in resident care.
• Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Meets all mandatory health and education requirements by State regulations.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Completes simple nursing treatments and monitors residents as directed by the Director of Nursing
• Records medications and treatments in residents' clinical records
• Communicates with physician, pharmacies, residents, and families to ensure timely medication delivery
• Maintains medication, equipment, and med room in a clean, orderly state
• Attends required meetings and trainings and supports other caregivers as needed
• Performs other tasks/duties as assigned
