Description: Certified Medication Aide - Weekend Warrior
Must have Medication Aide Certification through the Ohio Nursing Board

Schedule: Days: 7am-3:30pm, 16 hours per week (every weekend). Work 16 hours, get paid for 24 hours.

Summary of Position

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Medication Aide provides for the personal care needs of residents, assisting and performing activities as delegated by the nurse. Tasks include monitoring resident conditions, documenting and reporting changes, monitoring for drug reactions, and administering certain medications under supervision.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation
  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in Ohio in good standing or a Resident Assistant with 2 years full experience
  • Current Medication Aide Certification approved by Ohio Board of Nursing
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Dexterity to feed, bathe, etc.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit intermittently throughout the day
  • Understanding of infection control
  • Therapeutic communication skills
  • Professional and empathetic communication
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Respond to emergency situations
