Job summary

Lakewood Senior Living is seeking a Medication Aide to supervise self-administered medications for Assisted Living residents in accordance with Senior Solutions Management Group guidelines, reporting to the Wellness Director. The role features 12-hour shifts (7a–7p and 7p–7a).

Responsibilities include communicating health changes, documenting appropriately, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Licensed CNA/Home Health Aide/Personal Care Aide must possess at least one certification and complete the medication administration training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medication for Assisted Living residents in compliance with federal and state regulations and SSMG guidelines.
• Report health changes and document to the Wellness Director.
• Respond to emergencies promptly.
• Maintain communication with all departments and staff.
• Provide educational sessions for residents and staff as requested by supervisor.
• Support Safety & Disaster Plan and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Attend required trainings and promote safe working practices.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the AssistedLiving Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMGguidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
• Reports any change in resident's health and provides proper documentation to
  the Wellness Director.
• Responds quickly to all emergencies.
• Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
• Provides educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by
  Supervisor.
• Understands role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' and prospective residents' information.
• Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of
  accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working
  practices.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and
  co-workers.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months
• related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
  experience.
• Licensed CNA, Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid must possess at least one
  certification and have successful completion of the medication administration
  training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.
