Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a licensed Medication Aide with state-approved training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general regulations and procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies governing medication administration to residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to identify and prevent medication errors.
• Accurately prepare, administer, and document oral/topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are examined and identified.
• Document and report drug receipt errors with signed reports.
• Ensure proper labeling and charting of all medications.
• Maintain resident information confidentiality and cooperate with nursing staff.
