Job summary

Froedtert Health in Menomonee Falls, WI, seeks a Medication Access Specialist to ensure patients receive medications while navigating insurance and prior authorizations. You will liaise with patients, physicians, insurers and foundations to obtain coverage and assistance.

Responsibilities include reviewing EMR data for authorizations, updating the care team by phone, in-basket messaging, or EMR, and following up to finalize prior authorizations and refills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmacy, healthcare, managed care, or health insurance environment.
• Knowledge of health insurance terminology, benefit verification, billing, and hospital practices.
• Proven attention to detail and effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medication insurance coverage or assistance and manage prior authorizations and refills.
• Coordinate with patient, physician, pharmacy, insurers and other parties to resolve appeals.
• Review electronic medical records to gather information for submissions and updates.
• Communicate authorization statuses to the treatment team via multiple channels.
