Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Medication Access Coordinator II to support Johns Hopkins Care at Home Central Fill Pharmacy in Baltimore. This role manages prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, and coordinates with providers, insurers, and manufacturers to secure coverage and timely dispensing of medications.

Qualificações

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the state of Maryland.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required.
• Two years of experience in pharmacy, medical billing, insurance verification, or a related field.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of experience.
• Maintains continuing education requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Process medication prior authorization requests and patient assistance program applications.
• Collaborate with providers to obtain required clinical documentation.
• Communicate with insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers regarding coverage and authorization requirements.
• Review requests for compliance with insurance and manufacturer guidelines.
• Document all authorization and patient assistance activities in the medical record.
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to facilitate timely dispensing of approved medications.
• Educate patients and providers on authorization and assistance program processes.
• Investigate and resolve authorization denials and delays.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and workflow efficiency.
