Job summary

Self-Help for the Elderly seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator to promote Medicare benefits and HICAP services throughout San Mateo County. You will develop an outreach plan with the Program Manager and coordinate outreach events with local businesses, civic groups, and congregations to advance information dissemination.

The role requires strong communication, event coordination, and the ability to prepare multilingual outreach materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training with at least two years of experience working in senior and disability services is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes awareness of HICAP services and develops an outreach plan with the Program Manager.
• Coordinates outreach events and presentations; represents HICAP to local businesses and community groups; maintains a media kit.
• Manages volunteers, trains Community Educators, and tracks internship hours in SHARP; supports program compliance.
