Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist on behalf of our client for a contract-to-hire opportunity within a healthcare revenue cycle department. This role focuses on full lifecycle claims processing, from charge entry through reimbursement resolution, with emphasis on Medicare billing and handling denials and appeals.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of medical billing experience, strong Medicare knowledge, and the ability to manage AR follow-up, insurance inquiries, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of medical billing, accounts receivable, or insurance follow-up experience
• Strong Medicare billing experience required
• Full-cycle billing experience, including claims submission, follow-up, denial resolution, and appeals
• Knowledge of government and commercial payer guidelines
• Experience reviewing accounts receivable aging reports and managing outstanding balances
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Process and submit healthcare claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements
• Enter provider and service charges into the billing system and validate claim information prior to submission
• Monitor claims throughout the reimbursement process and proactively address payment delays
• Investigate and resolve denials, rejected claims, and payment discrepancies
• Prepare and submit appeals for unresolved or underpaid claims
• Review aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
• Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits as needed
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and reimbursement issues
• Respond to billing-related inquiries from patients, families, and providers with professionalism and sensitivity
• Assist with monthly billing, reporting, and revenue cycle activities
• Maintain accurate documentation of all claim activity and account follow-up efforts
