• Provide billing guidance/technical assistance to skilled nursing facilities.
• Review resident trust accounts for expenditures and fiduciary control.
• Validate payer source and census accuracy against facility records.
• Analyze accounts receivable to identify overpayments and support recovery.
• Prepare documentation and present findings to facility stakeholders.
• Conduct entrance/exit conferences with assigned facilities.
• Respond to calls/emails from providers and communicate requirements.
• Process claims adjustments and track status.
• Support hearings/appeals as needed.

Medicaid/Medicare Billing Specialist Pay: $21.00/hour Location: Harrisburg, PA (On-site) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (40 hours/week) Type: Contract (temporary) Interview: Required

Overview

We’re hiring a Medicaid/Medicare Billing Specialist to support financial and compliance-focused review work tied to Medicaid/Medicare billing and skilled nursing facility oversight. This is an on-site, office-based contract role.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain working knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare regulations applicable to nursing facilities
• Conduct financial reviews and follow-up assessments in accordance with federal/state requirements
• Provide billing guidance/technical assistance to skilled nursing facilities
• Review resident personal care funds/trust accounts for appropriate expenditures and fiduciary control
• Validate payer source and census accuracy by comparing status change reporting to facility records
• Analyze accounts receivable to identify overpayments and support recovery/collection activity
• Prepare documentation, compile findings, and present review results to facility stakeholders
• Conduct entrance/exit conferences with assigned facilities
• Respond to calls/emails from providers and stakeholders and clearly communicate requirements/processes
• Process claims adjustments and track adjustment status
• Support hearings/appeals as needed
• Other duties as assigned
