Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is hiring a Loader/Unloader for our Baltimore, MD facility. Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, weighing and sorting medical waste, operating autoclave and Washsmart systems, and maintaining accurate paperwork.

We offer a full-time, 40-hour week on the 2nd shift (4:30PM to 1AM) with benefits from day one. A valid driver’s license, basic math skills, and comfort working in PPE are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs and push a 200 lb cart repeatedly.
• Experience with weigh scales and recording weights accurately.
• Willingness to work in PPE and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload containers and weigh incoming medical waste containers.
• Operate autoclave machine and the Washsmart system.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accuracy of weights.
• Stand for extended periods and work with a team.
• Potential overtime and consistent 40-hour weeks.

We are looking to hire a Loader/Unloader for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Baltimore, MD. A Loader/Unloader has a widely varying role, from loading/unloading containers, emptying and washing our containers, weighing and checking in our containers.

• Lifting 55lbs and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!
• Must have a valid driver's license!!
• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifitng of 50lbs to 75lb containers!!)
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
• Proven longevity with employers
• Can-do attitude!!
