Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is hiring a Plant Operator for our Walton, KY facility. The role involves checking in containers, weighing waste, loading an autoclave, and operating the Washsmart system. You must lift heavy bins, work on a team, and pass background checks and drug screening.

The position is full-time, on-site with a 2nd shift schedule from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM, offering benefits from day one, sick and vacation leave, and a non-seasonal, essential-service role in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse/labor-intensive experience required.
• Able to lift 55 lbs and push 200 lbs repeatedly.
• Willingness to pass 5-panel drug test and 7-year background check.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods in PPE.
• Basic math and accurate weight recording.
• Reliable, long-term employment history.

Responsibilities

• Check in containers and verify paperwork.
• Move and unload waste containers.

We are looking to hire an operator for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Walton, KY. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave.

• Lifting 55lbs bins and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!
• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifitng of 50lbs to 75lb containers!!)
• Willingness to take a 5 panel urine drug screening
• Willingness to take a 7 year background check
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
• Proven longevity with employers
