Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time Days shift at Southern Regional Medical Center, Riverdale, GA. The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with physicians on patient condition changes.

Strong communication and critical thinking are essential for this role. Responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and mentoring other nursing staff on the Medical/Surgical unit.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate preferred, within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Prior acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Directly responsible and accountable for care given to assigned patients.

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
• He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
