Job summary

The Registered Nurse at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. This role requires direct patient care within the Medical/Surgical Unit with emphasis on patient/family teaching and collaboration with the medical team.

Shift is Days, Full Time; the position may require BLS/ACLS and state RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Georgia.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• BSN preferred and acute care experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
• Communicates with physician about changes in patient conditions, diagnostic results, and symptoms.
• Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Hours: 12 hours

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
• He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
