An established industry player is seeking a Medical Underwriting Assistant to support clerical duties within the Medical Underwriting department. The Medical Underwriting Assistant performs clerical duties applicable to the Medical Underwriting procedures under the direction of the Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Inputs MIB codes into MIB database.
Requests Attending Physician Statements from Doctors, Hospitals or other health related facilities.
Performs word processing duties including type, distribute and mail all underwriting correspondence (Adverse, Doctor Letters, etc.).
Sorts and matches incoming mail with underwriting files and distributes to assigned underwriter.
Utilizes Filenet, PACS, GRADS and RAD as required by departmental need.
Responds to inquiries from APS vending services.
Maintains supplies for Medical Underwriting.
Files.
Organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet defined production goals.
Processes all medical requirements within 3 – 5 days of receipt.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Related Experience:
High School Diploma required.
2 years experience in a high volume work environment.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Ability to perform detailed and diversified duties including prioritization of high volume workload.
Knowledge of personal computer required to including Windows and WordPerfect.
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
