Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist I for a weekend premium, full-time position. The role conducts routine and high complexity laboratory tests in the evening shift (Hours: 2:00pm-10:30am) to support patient care while maintaining quality control and instrument performance.

The MT I will perform instrument maintenance, assist in regulatory data collection, and may teach new staff. Phlebotomy duties may be required to support patient needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related clinical lab science required.
• Successful passing score on CLT proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0–2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests accurately with timely reporting.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and corrective actions.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventive maintenance per policy.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and communicates issues.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Coordinates with staff and assists in phlebotomy when needed.
