Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Medical Technologist/Med Lab Tech for the East Laboratory on the third shift. The role performs routine automated and manual procedures, verifies and reports test requests and results, and supports patient care through timely testing.

You will use the lab information system to review reports and call critical values, conduct quality control and maintenance, and assist in training new staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biological science with MT certification.
• MT certification must be obtained within one year from the date of hire.
• Meets mandatory hospital education and health surveillance requirements.
• Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine automated and manual laboratory procedures and report results.
• Manage phone inquiries regarding patient results and testing frequency.
• Use the laboratory information system to review reports and call critical values.
• Perform and document quality control, quality assurance and preventive maintenance on instrumentation.
• Provide training for new staff and medical technology students.
