Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery is seeking a Medical Technologist PRN to perform procedures in the clinical laboratory, ensuring accurate results and compliance with QA standards. The ideal candidate will hold a CLS degree with a related bachelor’s and may have MT(ASCP) certification.

The role involves independent work, training of students, and shared lab responsibilities. Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, quality control, and adherence to safety and infection-control policies

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of Clinical Laboratory Science with a related bachelor degree.
• Prefer national MT(ASCP) certification.
• Ability to perform procedures per protocol and work independently.
• Experience with phlebotomy and processing within a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform department procedures according to protocol.
• Make proper decisions and work independently.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the designated section.
• Prioritize work to meet Stat, Routine, and Urgent timelines.
• Assist leadership and train MLT students in clinical rotation.
• Share workload including phlebotomy and processing.
• Maintain communication and patient confidentiality.
• Perform instrument maintenance and quality control.
• Follow QA, safety, and infection control plans.
