Job summary

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, FL is seeking a PRN Medical Technologist to join our lab team. You will perform accurate laboratory testing and ensure timely reporting of patient results, while maintaining compliance with all procedures.

The role requires an active Florida Technologist License (or ability to obtain) and relevant MT experience. Generalist certification in multiple specialties is highly valued, with opportunities to contribute across Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry,

Qualifications

• Requires Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain during interview process.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas (Generalist highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame.
• Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgment and independent thinking in interpretation of patient results.
• Review pending logs and result logs; communicate and resolve outstanding workload with staff relief.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle problem/critical laboratory specimens.
