Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) in Florence, SC is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT) for a full-time role with 11:00 am–9:30 pm shift. The incumbent will perform routine and specialized lab tests, prepare specimens, operate equipment, and ensure quality control in a CLIA-accredited setting.

Requirements include graduation from an NAACLS-approved program and certification (ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• Certification required: ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW.
• One to two years’ experience preferred but new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures.
• Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
• Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
• Records lab results in specified system.
• Follows HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
