Description

Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic is looking for a full time Medical Technologist. Shift: Part-Time Day, every third weekend, 2 holidays per year.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Point‑of‑Care coordinator to oversee and manage all aspects of point‑of‑care testing (POCT) across Nazareth Hospital. The POCC will ensure regulatory compliance, train and assess staff competency, monitor quality control, and serve as the liaison between the laboratory and clinical departments.

Responsibilities

• Train and certify clinical staff on POCT devices
• Maintain quality control, documentation, and compliance with CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission
• Oversee instrument performance, troubleshooting, and vendor relations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences, or an appropriately related field (preferred)
• Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP
• With Bachelor's, MT (ASCP) certification or eligible
• Certified as MT (HEW) or MT (AMT)
• 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
