Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a full-time Medical Technologist for its microbiology department. The role supports diagnostic testing, analysis, and patient care within a busy hospital laboratory environment.

The candidate will perform standard lab procedures with independent judgment, contributing to timely, accurate results that inform patient treatment decisions. A commitment to quality and collaboration with the lab team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.
• 2–3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT preferred.
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or related field (preferred).
• Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP.
• With Bachelor's; MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
• Certified MT (HEW).
• Certified MT (AMT).

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic laboratory tests that detect, analyze and help treat diseases and conditions.
• Operate microscopes, analyzers and other lab equipment to provide accurate results.
• Maintain high quality patient care through independent judgment and responsibility.

Description

Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic is looking for a full time Medical Technologist to join our microbiology department.

Shift: Dayshift Responsibilities: A Medical Technologist conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. Microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment are used by Medical Technologists to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient. A Medical Technologist performs standard laboratory procedures requiring a broad use of independent judgment and responsibility, consistently providing high quality patient care.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
• 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT experience preferred
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or an appropriately related field (preferred)
