Job Description
Molecular and Microbiology Laboratory
Preferred Lab Partners/ St. Elizabeth HealthCare is a fast paced, high volume, progressive Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, and Infectious Disease Molecular Laboratory seeking a Medical Technologist (MT, MLS, MLT, CLS) and/OR a Bachelor of Sciences degree candidate with an area in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Sciences and/or Molecular sciences.

Our lab has the latest technologies available, including Molecular testing platforms: Cepheid Infinity, Hologic Panther, Cobas 6800, Biofire Film Array, Genmark ePlex, BD MAX and Meridian Alethia. Microbiology platforms include: Copan WASPLAB - an automated system for processing specimens, culture incubation and work-up for Clinical Microbiology - utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Interpretive algorithmic software for plate reading. We utilize the Bruker Maldi-tof as primary bacterial identification system; and the Micro lab has two (2) Antibiotic Susceptibility Test Platforms - Beckman Coulter MicroScan Walkaway and Biomerieux Vitek. The laboratory boasts an extensive test menu to meet the needs of our patients, providers and the community.
Qualifications
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency
OR
Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program along with ASCP Certification
OR
CLIA ’88 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification)
OR
Registry Eligible - Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science and have completed a NAACLS accredited MT/CLS program AND be certified within a year of eligibility or be certified one year from date of hire.
Registry Eligible for a Section Certification - must have a Baccalaureate Degree with a minimum of five-years technical experience in ONE of the Clinical Areas of the Laboratory.
