Microbiology/Molecular Microbiology Lab Job

Preferred Lab Partners/St. Elizabeth Healthcare is a fast-paced, high-volume, progressive Microbiology/Molecular Microbiology Laboratory seeking a Medical Technologist (MT, MLS, MLT) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Sciences.

Our lab features the latest technologies, including Copan WASPLAB—an automated system for specimen processing, culture incubation, and work-up utilizing AI and interpretive software; Bruker Maldi-tof for bacterial identification; and two Antibiotic Susceptibility Test Platforms—Beckman Coulter MicroScan Walkaway and Biomerieux Vitek. Molecular testing platforms include Cepheid Infinity, Hologic Panther, Biofire Film Array, Roche/Genmark ePlex, BD MAX, and Meridian Alethia, with an extensive test menu to meet patient and community needs.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS-approved Medical Technology program and certification from a recognized certifying agency
• OR Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS-approved Medical Technology program and ASCP Certification
• OR CLIA ’88 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification)
• OR Registry Eligible—Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with a NAACLS-accredited MT/CLS program, and certification within a year of eligibility or one year from hire date
• Registry Eligible for Section Certification—Baccalaureate Degree with at least five years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory area

Experience:

Minimum of 6-12 months of clinical internship as part of an approved MLS Training Program.
