Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician- Chemistry

Join the Cleveland Clinic team as a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician- Chemistry. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside passionate caregivers, providing patient-first healthcare with extensive support and recognition.

In this position, you will perform and interpret laboratory tests at all complexity levels, utilizing your knowledge of laboratory science theories, technical procedures, and problem-solving skills to aid in patient care. The role provides valuable hands-on experience with leading researchers and specialists.

Position Details

• Titles based on educational background: Medical Technologist, Med Lab Technician, Lab Technician
• Shift: Night hours from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, and record keeping
• Maintain regulatory compliance and quality control activities
• Ensure equipment maintenance and proper documentation
• Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education
• Identify and resolve test performance issues
• Potentially serve as an educator and trainer in the laboratory

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field or meet CLIA high complexity testing qualifications
• State of Florida technologist license
• Licenses in Microbiology, Immunohematology, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT, MLS) or eligible from ASCP

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Visual acuity, color distinction, fine motor skills
• Ability to stand for long periods, light lifting
• Exposure to hazardous materials with proper PPE
