Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Florence Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our dedicated laboratory team on a full-time basis.

This position offers an hourly pay rate with a 40-hour work week. Certification is required, and sponsorship is not available; new grads are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will perform routine and specialized tests, ensure quality control, and adhere to HIPAA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NAACLS accredited/approved MLT/MT program.
• Certification: ASCP, AMT, NCA or HEW required.
• One to two years of experience in an accredited lab preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests.
• Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
• Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
• Records lab results in the designated system and adheres to HIPAA, safety and biohazard standards.
