Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems and perform laboratory testing for patient care across age groups. The role supports neonate through geriatric patients in a high-quality clinical lab setting.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s or associate degree with appropriate certifications through ASCP/NCA/AMT/AAB/HHS, plus at least one year in a clinical laboratory and color-acuity screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Certification agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW).
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology with certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist and agencies listed above.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist and agencies listed above.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with current certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist; agencies listed above.

Responsibilities

• One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.

OR

1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

OR

1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist

OR

1.
