Job summary

Northside Hospital in Georgia seeks a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems, perform and interpret laboratory tests for patient care across age groups.

The MT II will collaborate with colleagues to maintain quality control, meet regulatory standards, and ensure timely, accurate reporting. A Bachelor's or Associate degree with certification and 1 year of clinical lab experience are required, along with color acuity screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science and certification as MT/MLS/CLS.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with MT/MLS/CLS certification and current certification.
• One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
