Job summary

Merit Health Central is seeking a Medical Technologist Lead to coordinate and oversee quality laboratory operations in a defined section. You will ensure testing accuracy, quality control, regulatory compliance, and equipment maintenance while serving as a technical resource for staff.

Responsibilities include supervising workflow, training, competency assessments, and data reporting in LIS/EMR systems. The role may involve phlebotomy support and ensuring patient safety and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• MLS/MT certification or equivalent is required/preferred.
• 2–4 years as Medical Technologist in clinical lab setting required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee quality laboratory operations within an assigned section.
• Ensure testing accuracy, QC, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP).
• Maintain equipment, provide training and staff competency assessments.
• Oversee workflow, staffing, and inventory for uninterrupted service.
• Ensure safety, PPE use, and adherence to lab safety plan.
• Maintain LIS data entry and results reporting.
• Assist phlebotomy and specimen collection when needed.
