Position Purpose

Utilizes advanced experience or certification in a laboratory section to provide technical expertise, serving in a leadership role and assisting with daily operations oversight.

Responsibilities

• Resource for technical personnel and workplace questions
• Assist with employee orientation, training, instrument maintenance, safety compliance, quality control, and audits
• Oversee education, manuals, research, troubleshooting
• Perform technical tasks including specimen processing, testing, maintenance, and promoting initiatives
• Participate in teaching peers and students
• Manage error correction and resolution
• Organize work independently to meet deadlines
• Assist in performance appraisals and verify competencies

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
• Four years of clinical laboratory experience, including one in the specific laboratory section
• Completion of NAACLS or ABHES accredited program or equivalent
• Certification: MLS or MT by ASCP or AMT
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel
• Strong communication, organizational, and regulatory knowledge
