Position Summary

The Medical Technologist is an excellent technical opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution. This position requires a service-committed individual, who is detail-oriented and can perform complex data analysis, exercise sound, independent judgment, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Receive specimens, establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
  2. Determine the suitability of specimens.
  3. Acquire and prepare reagents as needed.
  4. Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences.
  • Certification or registry eligible for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), or AMT, or MT (AAB).
  • SM (ASCP), RM (NRM) for Microbiology only.
  • Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification or eligibility (if duties include phlebotomy).
  • SC, SM (ASCP), MS in Clinical Chemistry or molecular diagnostics experience preferred for Immunology only.
