Job Title: Instructional Technologist (Contract)
Location: Remote

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Instructional Technologist for a remote long-term contract opportunity, supporting our client based out of Bellevue WA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing comprehensive training programs and materials. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the establishment and operational excellence of our training department, as well as collaborate with various stakeholders to elevate our training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement training processes, programs, and procedures tailored to a newly developed training department, ensuring compliance with company standards, regulations, and relevant codes.
  • Formulate and execute a strategy to achieve initial accreditation for training programs.
  • Use the Systematic Approach to Training to create and uphold high-quality training curricula for personnel.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of training programs, adapting instructional content based on changes in design, procedure revisions, and process updates.
  • Actively participate in the Training Advisory Committee to foster collaboration and innovation in training methodologies.
  • Coordinate with management, emergency response organizations, and external entities to refine and enhance training programs.
  • Develop and validate trainee examination materials and evaluation processes for various training environments including classroom, laboratory, on-the-job training, and simulation settings.
  • Establish processes for training performance evaluations, conduct trainee counseling sessions, and develop individualized training plans.
  • Integrate insights from significant operational experience reports and regulatory updates into the training materials and programs.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections, evaluations, and management audits, including the preparation of detailed responses.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant design and operational practices to facilitate effective training development.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of auditable training records and reports to document training activities.
  • Collaborate with management to establish department goals and contribute to budget planning for designated projects and subject matter areas.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, training, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in education or training, particularly within industrial contexts.
  • Proficiency in developing digital training content and delivering training programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to training excellence.
  • Proven ability to communicate openly and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Adaptability to emerging challenges associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of new operational facilities.
  • Experience in maintaining standards and influencing others to pursue excellence in training and operational practices.
