Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting in a clinical lab setting. The role emphasizes adherence to QC policies, proper documentation, and maintaining safety standards.

The position requires substantial education in chemistry/biology and lab techniques, along with clinical rotations or military lab procedures. ASCP/MLT certification is preferred, with registry-eligible candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 60 semester hours with chemistry, biology and MLT techniques or an Associate degree in related science.
• Clinical rotations in microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology completed.
• ASCP/MLT certification preferred; registry-eligible candidates encouraged to apply.
• High school diploma and keyboarding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, test analyses, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities and instrument calibrations.
• Identify test performance issues and notify supervisor or make corrections as needed.
• Manage laboratory stock, ordering and receiving supplies for lab and treatment areas.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a positive customer-service approach.
