Job summary

LewisGale Regional Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist in Virginia to perform laboratory procedures with a focus on quality control and patient safety. You will handle testing, instrument maintenance, and data entry while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates are graduates of accredited clinical laboratory programs, ASCP/NCA eligible, with 1–2 years of laboratory experience. ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of Clinical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP/NCA eligible
• Preferred ASCP/NCA certified
• 1–2 years experience as Medical Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Performs required procedures in the department sections according to protocol.
• Makes proper decisions utilizing job knowledge; works independently.
• Demonstrates proficiency in designated sections through testing and QA/QC.
• Prioritizes work to ensure timely results (Stat, Routine, Urgent).
• Assists leadership in miscellaneous duties and shares workload.
• Maintains communication with coordinators and patients, ensuring confidentiality.
