Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Medical Technologist II to perform timely and accurate blood tests using moderately complex methods within a community-based Interlakes Oncology and Hematology setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure compassionate patient care and adapt to alternate community locations as needed.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or related field with NYS license; MT(ASCP) certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related with ASCP certification.
• Six years as a Licensed Medical Technologist.
• NYS license required; MT(ASCP) certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient samples using current, moderately complex methods and instruments.
• Follow established lab protocols and safety rules.
• Adhere to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Report results of patient sample analysis in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.
• Assist with blood collection and bone marrow procedures as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; document activities.
• Maintain a clean, safety-oriented laboratory environment.
