Job summary

AdventHealth in LUTZ, FL seeks a laboratory assistant to perform pre-analytical and post-analytical duties, including equipment checks, specimen collection, processing, and result reporting, following SOPs.

You will support staff, ensure safety with PPE and hand hygiene, participate in proficiency testing and education of new staff, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in a fast-paced hospital lab.

Qualifications

Experience with lab equipment operation and maintenance.
Competence in specimen collection and processing.
Familiarity with quality assurance and safety protocols.
Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Strong written and spoken English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment checks, inventory control, specimen collection and processing.
Conduct post-analytical activities such as reporting results and providing technical support.
Maintain clean, safe, and compliant laboratory spaces and documentation.
Assist with proficiency testing and staff education as needed.
