Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent) required.
• Registered as Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist by ASCP or equivalent.
• Meets NYS Department of Health licensure requirements as Clinical Lab Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and test specimens, including proficiency testing and manual procedures, reporting per protocol.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Utilize complex information systems; collect and interpret data.
• Perform and interpret quality control.
• Maintain compliant environment per lab and hospital procedures, NYS, TJC, HIPAA, infection control and safety guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and coordinate inter- and intra-departmental workflows.
