Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent) with ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Licensed as Clinical Lab Scientist by NYS Department of Health.
• Prior laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and test specimens, including proficiency testing and manual procedures, and report appropriately according to protocol.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Utilize complex information systems; collect and interpret data.
• Perform and interpret quality control.
• Maintain a compliant environment, including adherence to all lab and hospital procedures, NYS, TJC, HIPAA standards, infection control and safety guidelines.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and maintain inter-and intra-departmental workflow by cooperating with others.
• Maintain adequate inventory and conserve resources.
