Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and high-complexity laboratory tests under minimal supervision. You will ensure accurate results, adhere to quality control, and support patient care with reliable data.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, phlebotomy duties as needed, and collaboration with team members to meet testing deadlines while complying with safety standards and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HEW.
0–2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and report results.
Adhere to quality control procedures and perform instrument checks.
Conduct instrument maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
Ensure safety and PPE usage per Laboratory Safety Plan.
Assist with data collection for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens and perform phlebotomy duties as needed.
Collaborate with team to complete shift duties and department responsibilities.
