Job summary

Northwest Health Valparaiso FSED is seeking a Medical Technologist I for 32 hours weekly with evening and midnight shifts. Training on day shift 6am–2:30pm; possible rotation to Porter, Portage, VMC.

You will perform routine and high‑complexity lab tests, ensure QC, and support patient care in a fast‑paced setting. Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, data collection for compliance, and potential phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or CLT-equivalent required.
• Passing score on CLT proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0–2 years acute care laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity tests accurately and report results promptly.
• Maintain quality control, perform instrument checks and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and escalate as needed, ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff and assist with data collection for regulatory needs.
• May teach new staff and students and perform phlebotomy duties as needed.
