Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Medical Technologist II to join our state-of-the-art laboratory team. You will develop and monitor test systems, perform and interpret lab tests across patient ages, from neonate to geriatric, to support accurate diagnosis and care.

Work hours are 6:30AM–3:00PM with every 4th weekend coverage and rotating weekend requirements. A bachelor's or associate degree in lab science and MLS/CLS certification are required, with ongoing certification eligibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology with certification as MLS/CLS.
• Military program graduate with MLS/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist qualifications and current MLS/CLS certification.

• Develops and monitors test systems.
• Performs and interprets laboratory tests for diagnosis and care across age groups from neonate to geriatric.
• Ensures adherence to proper standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
